Autumn Wedding Flowers

Fall is a beautiful season. The air is a bit crisper, the sky a more intense blue, the surrounding landscape is a blaze of glorious colour. If you’re a bride who loves colour, fall is definitely your wedding season. But if you think your wedding florals are limited to variations on the orange/pumpkin/gourd theme, I hope today’s blog will give you some fresh ideas.

This is a classic fall arrangement. It’s very cute and is full in-your-face orange. Everyone loves pumpkins and orange is such a happy hue, BUT I recognize they’re a bit of a fall cliche.

And now for something completely different. Believe it or not, this is also a fall arrangement and the definition of local. I literally picked all of these blooms from my garden last week. The creamy, soft pink Cafe au Lait dahlias are spectacular superstars of the late summer garden. I’ve showcased these beauties with hydrangea ‘Limelight’, sedum ‘Autumn Joy’, and peony foliage (it takes on a lovely burnished colour as it dies back before winter). Soft and romantic, and yet 100% in season.
