The Key to a Happy Wedding…

It’s so simple:  hire professionals.

Sounds like a no-brainer but I’m continually surprised by couples that assign important aspects of their special, once-in-a-lifetime day to marginally qualified (though well-intentioned) amateurs who do not specialize in servicing the wedding industry.

A quick case study:  As is true for any business owner these days I knew when I started Imprint Weddings Design & Coordination I would need a website. I also realized I could probably create something myself using WordPress.

Bad idea.

I know myself. I have neither the time, nor the inclination, nor the patience to design and build a website. I knew I needed a professional. Happily, with the intervention of the Internet gods, I found Eileen Lonergan. Her skills were exactly what I was looking for. We had a great Skype chat to ensure we’d be a good fit. A few days later I confirmed to Eileen that I wanted her to be my web designer.

To me it just made so much sense:  she’s a professional web designer. I am not. It’s been a few weeks since my site was launched and I could not be happier with my decision. Hiring Eileen was money very well spent.

Think of all the professionals you use in your daily life. Car problems? Hire a mechanic. Buying a house? Find a real estate pro AND a lawyer. Embarking on a rigorous fitness regime? Hire a professional trainer, like Christie Preston.

Hire professionals. Whether it’s catering, wedding planning, flowers or photography, you will never regret hiring pros. It’s their job. They’re experts. And they will jump through hoops of fire to help you achieve your vision for your wedding. And that peace-of-mind is priceless.

Thank you for the shout out! This post could not ring more true. I totally agree with you about hiring a professional for important projects, many people don’t even mow their own lawn, why would they think they could plan a wedding on their own. Plus who feels like running around in a wedding dress making sure the flowers got delivered? The day is too special to miss a moment of the fun! Cheers to you Christine!
